Following along with the success of Groupon.com in the US, Facebook will soon launch its own version of daily deals.
Facebook, with over 500 million members is the perfect business to launch "social buying" discount deals. With people addicated to Facebook and spending on average 55 minutes logged in during the day, these deals will be right there in front of users. This is a model that will work.
Facebook will launch its first deals in a matter of weeks. Facebook staff will source the deals, but businesses can apply to get listed. This move will shake up the US vouchers market, and may affect some of the larger companies live LivingSocial and Groupon.com
No word on what timeframe NZ might see facebook deals.
